Potency Test kits are semi-quantitative, giving an indication of dosage range. The instructions must be followed closely to give the most accurate results, including:
- An insulin needle (0.5 or 1ml) must be used
- The test needs to be timed for 1 minute
It is advised that you do a Presence Test kit first, then a Potency kit once the identity of the steroid is confirmed.
This kit requires a 31G Ultrafine insulin pin (not included). These are available in our Accessories section.
PED kits have a shelf life of 3 months from purchase.
While colour metric testing is the best method for on-the-spot screening, it is never 100% conclusive. There are many variables that can impact the result, such as user error, contaminants, and fillers. The results of a colour metric kit should be confirmed by a professional where possible using a referenced analytical method such as HPLC and GCMS.
Neither a positive result, nor a negative result means a drug is safe to use.
