Safety Instructions

WARNING: Harmful if swallowed or inhaled. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Causes serious eye irritation. Avoid breathing mist or vapours. Wear protective gloves, eye protector and face protection.

IF SWALLOWED: Call a Poison Centre or doctor if you feel unwell.
IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water.
IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Call a Poison Centre if you feel unwell.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Information on Bacterostatic Water (“bacwater”)

Do not make more than needed at a time. DO NOT MAKE IN BULK. Bacwater only has a shelf life of 28 days. This product is only for home use for the purposes of harm reduction.

  • Always use sterile water for injections from a needle exchange or medical supply store. DO NOT use distilled, boiled or filtered water. Do not use saline.
  • Always measure as accurately as you can.
  • Hygiene is VERY IMPORTANT. Sterile surfaces, vial tops and gloves are essential.
  • Benzyl Alcohol does not sterilise products – it only inhibits bacterial growth. It is still possible to contaminate a peptide with bacteria, mould and viruses.
    Bacwater can only be added to a peptide once – do not add more later to adjust the concentration. Do not add more Benzyl Alcohol than recommended – changing the amount required is at your own risk.

How to make Bacterostatic Water

Inject the water into the peptide vial, THEN slowly inject the Benzyl Alcohol into the peptide vial. DO NOT SHAKE TO MIX.

Do not mix water and Benzyl Alcohol together in another container or vail first as this increases the risk of contamination.

  • 1mL of Bacteriostatic Water you will need 0.99mL of sterile water and 0.01mL of Benzyl alcohol.
  • 2mL of Bacteriostatic Water you will need 1.98mL of sterile water and 0.018mL of Benzyl alcohol.
  • 3mL of Bacteriostatic Water you will need 2.97mL of sterile water and 0.027mL of Benzyl alcohol.
  • 5ml of Bacteriostatic Water you will need 4.95mL of sterile water and 0.045mL of Benzyl alcohol.

The container of Benzyl alcohol can be resealed back into its bag and stored in the fridge – it does not go off but may slowly evaporate over time.

Sterile water tubes can only be opened and used ONCE, any unused water must be disposed of immediately.
