PED kits have a shelf life of 3 months from purchase.
While colour metric testing is the best method for on-the-spot screening, it is never 100% conclusive. Many variables can impact the result, such as user error, contaminants, and fillers. The results of a colour metric kit should be confirmed by a professional where possible using a referenced analytical method such as HPLC and GCMS.
Neither a positive result nor a negative result means a drug is safe to use.
